Domaine Rolet Arbois Tradition is a historic cuvée of the estate and an authentic expression of the great white wines of the Jura. This distinctive blend of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Savagnin comes from the Château Gimont and Sous le Viaduc vineyard parcels in Montigny-lès-Arsures. The vines are planted on rare grey marl soils, a terroir found only in limited areas of the Arbois appellation and one that plays a key role in the wine’s unique character.
In the glass, the wine reveals the true personality of a great traditional Arbois. The combination of Chardonnay and Savagnin creates a complex and characterful style in which richness, depth, and terroir expression come together in perfect harmony. This iconic cuvée has long been regarded as one of Domaine Rolet’s benchmark wines.
The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected. The Savagnin is then aged for four years under a veil of yeast in oak barrels, while the Chardonnay matures for the same period in topped-up large wooden vessels. The two wines are blended only three months before bottling, resulting in an exceptionally balanced and complex wine.
Serve at 12–14°C with creamy dishes, mushrooms such as morels, shellfish and seafood, mature cheeses, or refined sweet-and-savoury preparations.
This Arbois Tradition is an ideal choice for lovers of classic Jura wines with depth and character. Thanks to its powerful structure and unique ageing process, it offers a cellaring potential of 10 years or more, allowing it to develop even greater complexity over time.
