Village Gumiel de Mercado is an accessible, fruit-driven red wine from Ribera del Duero produced by Bodegas Arrocal. It is made from 100% Tinto Fino grapes sourced from vines that are, on average, 30 years old, planted at 855 meters above sea level in Gumiel de Mercado. The hand-harvested grapes undergo gentle maceration and fermentation in stainless steel tanks, after which the wine matures briefly in used French oak barrels to preserve optimal freshness and pure fruit character.

In the glass, Village Gumiel de Mercado displays a bright cherry-red color with violet reflections. On the nose, vibrant aromas of red cherries, raspberries, and ripe strawberries unfold, subtly framed by floral notes of violets and a hint of licorice. A whisper of herbs such as mint and bay leaf adds extra complexity without disturbing its clear, fresh profile.

On the palate, the wine is juicy and well-balanced. The attack is friendly and slightly creamy, while excellent acidity accentuates its juiciness. Soft, ripe tannins contribute to a smooth mouthfeel and lead to a medium-length, enjoyable finish marked by a delicate trail of spice.

Serve Village Gumiel de Mercado lightly chilled at 14–16 °C to bring out its fresh fruit tones. It makes an excellent companion to tapas like chorizo and Serrano ham, as well as grilled vegetables and Mediterranean salads. Also consider pairing it with pasta in tomato sauce or lightly spicy ragù and young, semi-firm cheeses.
