Barolo Tradizione

The Barolo Tradizione DOCG from Marchesi di Barolo is a classic expression of Nebbiolo, sourced from carefully selected vineyards on the most suitable hillsides of the appellation, including Verduno, La Morra, Barolo, and Grinzane Cavour. The limestone and clay soils, partly covered with quartz sand, give the wine its characteristic structure and a broad, refined aromatic profile.

In the glass, the wine displays a ruby-red colour with garnet reflections. The nose is generous, revealing floral notes of wild rose alongside a subtle fruity hint of wild strawberry. On the palate, it is full and enveloping, with soft tannins and a lively yet pleasant acidity that brings elegance and balance.

The grapes are strictly hand-harvested, with the finest bunches selected directly in the vineyard. After destemming and pressing, alcoholic fermentation begins in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, together with a skin maceration lasting approximately fifteen days. Regular pump-overs ensure optimal extraction of colour, aromas, and tannins.

Ageing in wood lasts around two years: the first year in Slavonian oak casks of 30 and 60?hl, followed by a second year in large traditional Slavonian oak vats, where finesse and elegance are further refined. After bottling, the wine rests for at least one additional year to reach its full expression.

Ideally served at 18?°C, this Barolo pairs beautifully with refined meat dishes, game, truffle-based preparations, or aged cheeses. This is a classically styled Barolo that is already approachable yet clearly offers ageing potential for further development in bottle.
