Belgian Owl New Make Spirit is the purest expression of the Hesbaye terroir, crafted from barley sourced from Hesbaye and water drawn from the local spring. This unparalleled grain spirit is distilled using traditional methods at the Belgian Owl Distillery in Fexhe-le-Haut-Clocher in a double pot still, without any barrel aging – ensuring that the authentic character of the unadulterated grains is fully preserved.
On the nose, you experience subtle notes of malt, freshly baked bread, and shortbread, which reveal themselves as an ode to the very essence of the grain. As the spirit further develops, fresh, fruity hints of ripe pears, medlars, and cider emerge, gracefully blending into an echo of freshly mown grass.
On the palate, this spirit unveils a pleasant sweetness, characterized by a rich, oily texture and a gradually unfolding development of orchard fruit flavors.
Bottled at 46% vol in a 50 cl bottle, this New Make Spirit has never been casked and is therefore not called 'whisky', yet it remains an authentic, unaged single malt spirit.
