Burgundy offers ideal conditions for Pinot Noir, a grape variety renowned for its ability to faithfully express the nuances of its terroir. With Les Fortunés, Domaine Chanzy presents an authentic and approachable red Burgundy that beautifully showcases the elegance, finesse and purity of this iconic grape. Sourced from the Côte Chalonnaise and grown on clay-limestone soils, the wine is a true reflection of its Burgundian origins.
In the glass, the wine displays a bright ruby-red colour. The nose opens with fresh aromas of red cherry, blackcurrant and other red berries, complemented by subtle spicy notes. On the palate, Les Fortunés is supple and harmonious, offering ripe yet refined tannins, vibrant freshness and a juicy fruit expression that invites another sip. The style is elegant, balanced and distinctly Burgundian, combining finesse with immediate drinkability.
The wine is matured partly in stainless steel tanks and partly in 450-litre oak barrels for approximately ten months, followed by additional refinement in stainless steel before bottling. This ageing process preserves both the fruit-driven freshness and the elegant structure that define Pinot Noir.
Serve at around 14°C with tapas, poultry, roasted fish, oven-roasted vegetables, ricotta-based pasta dishes or mild goat cheeses. Thanks to its freshness and expressive fruit character, this Burgundy Pinot Noir is also a remarkably versatile gastronomic companion.
Les Fortunés is aimed at lovers of refined red Burgundy wines seeking to discover the charm of Pinot Noir in an accessible style. While already offering considerable drinking pleasure thanks to its vibrant fruit and elegant structure, it also has the potential to develop beautifully in bottle over the coming years.
