Bourgogne Pinot Noir 'Reserve du Bastion'

The Bourgogne Pinot Noir “Réserve du Bastion” from Domaine Chanson is a classic Burgundy blend sourced from selected parcels in the Côte Chalonnaise, the Hautes Côtes de Beaune and the Hautes Côtes de Nuits. This cuvée reflects the region’s diversity: the elegance and finesse of the cooler higher altitude sites combined with the riper, fruit driven character of the Côte Chalonnaise, resulting in an approachable yet distinctive Pinot Noir.

In the glass, the wine shows a bright, brilliant ruby colour. The nose opens with rose like floral notes and an inviting bouquet of red berries, raspberry and cherry, complemented by subtle spice and delicate oak accents. On the palate, the attack is fresh and immediate; juicy red fruit, a soft, supple texture and well integrated tannins bring energy and length, while a gentle hint of spice rounds off the finish with elegance.

Winemaking begins with careful grape selection, followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks with tailored handling for each terroir to extract colour and aromatics. Ageing on fine lees takes place in both stainless steel and French oak barrels, adding structure and complexity without overshadowing the wine’s fresh fruit expression.

Serve at 14–16 °C. Excellent with slow cooked or roasted meats, poultry, rich charcuterie and classic Burgundian dishes; also a lovely match for saucisson brioché or roasted vegetables with herbs.
