This Bouzeron comes from the renowned Clos de la Fortune, a single vineyard and monopole of the estate, facing south east in the Côte Chalonnaise. The parcel lies on limestone with marl layers and chailles (small flint and limestone pebbles), a soil composition that gives the local Aligoté grape exceptional concentration and minerality. The site and terroir produce a wine that is both immediately seductive and distinctly terroir driven.
In the glass, Clos de la Fortune shows a deep golden hue and a full, inviting presence. The nose is complex: linden blossom, fresh fruit and subtle vanilla intertwine with buttery and toasted notes. On the palate, the wine is rich and structured, with a fine saline touch and a persistent finish offering both freshness and length.
Vinification combines traditional precision with careful vessel selection: fermentation in stainless steel, foudres and oak barrels, followed by 11 months of ageing divided between stainless steel tanks (60%), foudres (20%) and oak barrels (20%, around 15% new). This approach adds body and complexity without overshadowing the pure Aligoté fruit.
Serving temperature: 10–12 °C. Food pairing: excellent with grilled chicken, gnocchi with pesto, creamy pasta dishes such as carbonara, and surprisingly good with fresh fruit salads or delicate seafood thanks to its saline finish. Perfect to enjoy now, yet it will continue to develop beautifully over the coming years as its minerality and toasted notes further integrate.
