Brolio Riserva is a 100 % Sangiovese Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva that captures the essence of Brolio’s oldest vineyards. The vineyards sit at 300–400 m elevation on varied soils, all generously strewn with stones, which contribute to the wine’s minerality and structure.
The wine matured for 18 months in first- and second-fill French oak tonneaux, softening the tannins and adding subtle spicy and cedarwood nuances.
In the glass it gleams deep ruby red. The nose combines ripe cherries, black plums and violets with notes of tobacco, cedar and dark chocolate. On the palate it shows impressive concentration, silky tannins and lively acidity underpinning a long, saline-mineral finish.
A perfect companion to grilled lamb, game dishes and robust aged cheeses like Pecorino Toscano.
