Brolo Campofiorin is a prestigious selection within the Campofiorin family: a rich, full bodied and elegant Rosso Verona IGT that combines the traditional appassimento method with added complexity from the re discovered Oseleta grape. This cuvée was developed as a Cru version of Campofiorin and builds on the same character but with greater depth and structure.
In the glass Brolo Campofiorin presents concentrated, baked fruit supported by notes of cocoa, vanilla and subtle spices. Ripe tannins and a powerful body give the wine a velvety yet impressive texture; colour, concentration and tannins are further enhanced by the contribution of Oseleta, an ancient local variety with compact clusters and high polyphenol content. Because of its concentrated fruit, silky tannins and robust structure, Brolo is often viewed as a refined derivative of Amarone — a “baby Amarone” with more finesse and accessibility.
Production follows the classic appassimento approach and includes a double fermentation that yields extra concentration and complexity. Ageing in smaller oak barrels accentuates the wine’s international style and rounds out the structure, making Brolo Campofiorin both powerful and refined.
This wine offers rare versatility at the table: it pairs excellently with richly filled pasta dishes with meat sauces or mushrooms, creamy risottos, grilled red meat, roasted dishes and well matured cheeses. Serve at 16–18 °C to allow the layers of aroma and the wine’s substantial texture to fully express themselves.
