Brut de Bruges Prestige / Merula

Mérula Brut de Bruges Prestige is a refined Belgian (BelBul) sparkling quality wine from Oostkamp, made from 100% Johanniter. The north–south oriented vineyards produce ripe, concentrated grapes; the cool microclimate gives the cuvée a distinctly fresh and precise character.

In the glass the wine shines with a clear, pale golden hue and a fine, persistent mousse. The nose opens with green apple, citrus zest and white flowers, complemented by subtle brioche notes that indicate extended sur lie ageing. On the palate the Brut is taut and energetic, with lively acidity, mineral tension and an elegant, dry finish thanks to the extra brut dosage.

Vinification begins with whole cluster pressing and a primary fermentation in stainless steel to maximise freshness. The cuvée matured for at least 18 months sur lie and underwent cross flow filtration; the combination of inox vinification and long ageing delivers both purity and refined complexity.

Serve at 12–14 °C. This Prestige is excellent as an aperitif and pairs beautifully with delicate seafood, oysters, ceviche and light fish dishes; it also complements creamy starters and festive canapés.
