Mesa Buio Buio Carignano del Sulcis DOC Riserva is a wine that marries the potent character of old Carignano vines (25–35 years) with the saline bravado of Sulcis. The vineyards, exposed to a constant sea breeze, thrive on lime-rich clay soils, producing grapes of exceptional concentration and mineral finesse.

The young wine matures for 12 months in tonneaux (new or lightly used), followed by 6 months in concrete tanks to preserve its pure fruit expression. A final bottle ageing of at least 6 months brings harmony to the tannins, acids and aromas.

In the glass, Buio Buio shines with a deep ruby-red hue. On the nose, it reveals lush notes of cherry compote, ripe blueberries and Mediterranean herbs, enriched by hints of cedarwood, vanilla and black pepper. The flavours evolve smoothly and in layers: full and rich, yet playful thanks to a bright savoury streak and rounded, approachable tannins. Every sip celebrates the rugged Sardinian terroir and the deep-rooted elegance of ancient vines.
