Camarcanda

The name of the winery, Ca' Marcanda, meaning "house of endless negotiations," refers to the long hours Angelo Gaja spent negotiating the purchase of the estate from the previous owners. It is one of the most coveted areas in the region, where primarily noble foreign grape varieties are planted and wines of the highest quality are produced.This is a bold and beautifully concentrated wine with a brilliant character best described as "Rubenesque" (full and round). Camarcanda exhibits a smooth texture and deep richness, supported by sweet fruit and hints of raspberry tart. The ripe, well-managed tannins give way to a sparkling freshness that adds energy and life to the finish.
