Camino Real

Guímaro Camiño Real originates from the heart of Amandi, the most iconic sub region of Ribeira Sacra, where steep terraced vineyards rise dramatically above the Sil River. The wine is a classic blend from old vines, predominantly Mencía complemented by Brancellao, Sousón, Mouratón, Merenzao, Caíño and other local varieties. The varied soils, slate, granite, quartz and sand, create a rich, complex mosaic that gives the wine both depth and aromatic lift.

In the glass, Camiño Real presents a lively red fruit profile, with aromas of rose, raspberry and blackberry supported by gentle spicy nuances. The structure is medium to full, yet always elegant: fresh acidity, pure fruit and fine, ripe tannins bring balance and tension.

Vinification follows the traditional Guímaro style. The grapes, sourced from forty  to sixty year old vines, are harvested entirely by hand and undergo spontaneous fermentation, often with a significant proportion of whole clusters, in open wooden vats. The wine then ages for about one year, partly in large foudres and partly in used French oak barrels. Bottling is done without fining or filtration, preserving its pure and authentic character.

Serve Camiño Real at 15–17°C to fully reveal its layered fruit and mineral tension. It is an exceptionally versatile food wine, pairing beautifully with poultry, veal, stews, game, roasted pork and even more robust fish dishes or Mediterranean pasta plates.

With its blend of freshness, precision and structure, this cuvée appeals equally to lovers of elegant, terroir driven wines and to connoisseurs seeking depth and authenticity. Camiño Real is delightful when young, yet it evolves gracefully over five to ten years, gaining harmony in its spice, floral notes and texture.
