The Barolo Cannubi DOCG from Marchesi di Barolo comes from the legendary Cannubi hill, centrally located within the Barolo appellation and internationally recognized as one of its most prestigious crus. The limestone and clay soils rich in Sant’Agata marl give the wine its exceptional combination of structure, finesse, elegance, and ageing potential.

In the glass, the wine displays a deep ruby red colour with characteristic garnet reflections. The nose is savoury and layered, offering aromas of dried red berries, wild rose, and spices, unfolding into refined notes of cocoa bean and vanilla. On the palate, it is full and harmonious, with silky, enveloping tannins and an elegant body that leads into a long, spicy finish.

The grapes are strictly hand harvested and selected directly in the vineyard. After gentle pressing, the must ferments at controlled temperatures (24–26?°C), followed by a skin maceration lasting 15 to 18 days, allowing for a gradual and optimal extraction of noble polyphenols.

After racking, the wine first rests in concrete tanks before ageing for approximately two years: the first year partly in French oak barriques to refine colour and ageing potential, followed by a second year in large Slavonian oak casks that emphasizes finesse and elegance. After bottling, the wine undergoes a further bottle ageing of at least one year.

Ideally served at 18?°C, this Barolo pairs beautifully with refined meat dishes, game, truffle based preparations, or aged cheeses. This is a great, classically styled Barolo for lovers of top crus, offering impressive depth and outstanding potential for long term ageing.
