Châteauneuf-du-Pape Pie VI is a powerful blend of Grenache and Syrah from Châteauneuf-du-Pape, originating from three different terroirs. The wine has a deep purple-red color and a nose with aromas of ripe black fruit, spices, and bitter cocoa. On swirling, aromas of blackberry jam and aromatic herbs emerge. The palate has a soft beginning with velvety tannins, followed by a complex and concentrated finish with nuances of soft spices and pure chocolate. Vinification takes place in small concrete vats, followed by aging for 20 months in concrete tanks. Perfect with grilled vegetables and roasted new potatoes.
