The Legardeta Chardonnay comes from Finca Legardeta, one of the northernmost plots on the Iberian Peninsula where Atlantic influences and a cool continental microclimate allow slow, even ripening. Vineyards planted on higher north facing slopes with clay loam soils produce grapes with concentrated aromas and lively acidity; the result is a Chardonnay of distinct origin, finesse and a gastronomic profile.
In the glass the wine shows a pale golden colour. The nose opens with a refined mix of citrus fruit, white stone fruit and floral orange blossom notes, followed by subtle buttery tones and light smokiness from oak ageing. On the palate the Legardeta Chardonnay is generous yet tightly balanced: a rounded texture from sur lie élevage, vibrant acids that preserve freshness and a long, elegant finish with a mineral underpinning.
After hand harvest a short maceration is applied and a gentle pressing follows. The musts are separated and fermented in both stainless steel and French oak barrels, after which the wine spends around five months on fine lees with regular bâtonnage to build structure and complexity without sacrificing purity.
Serve at 10–12 °C with shellfish, creamy fish dishes, poultry with light sauces or mellow semi ripe cheeses. The combination of texture and acidity makes this Chardonnay ideally suited to gastronomic dishes with subtle herbs and creamy components.
