Esporão Touriga Nacional is a wine crafted from one of the oldest Touriga Nacional vineyards in the Alentejo – the Vinha do Badeco at Herdade do Esporão. This noble Portuguese grape, renowned for its intensity, balance, and aging potential, reflects the singularity of its vineyard and the expertise of its caretakers.
The grapes were hand-harvested then initially fermented in marble lagares where they were foot-trodden, before finishing fermentation in concrete tanks under controlled conditions. The wine then aged for one year in new French oak barrels and continued to evolve in bottle for at least two years.
The result is a wine displaying an intense deep garnet hue, with complex aromas of tobacco, licorice, black plum, and raisin, and a rich, opulent palate with notes of spices and smoke, balanced by smooth, elegant tannins.
