Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the unsung grapes of Montalcino, and since this appellation is fully focused on Sangiovese, we only get rare opportunities to taste the French grape. The Olmaia is a gorgeous wine, one that has enthusiastically embraced the deep warmth and golden sunlight of the vintage. You can taste those warm characteristics in the fullness, richness, and softness of the fruit displayed here. Aromas of black fruit transition into richer tones of spices and dark chocolate, with very subtle hints of candied cherry or baked blackberries.
