Pernand Vergelesses 'Belles Filles'

This Pernand-Vergelesses Belles Filles is an elegant red Burgundy from Domaine Rapet Père & Fils, sourced from one of the most charming parts of the Pernand-Vergelesses appellation, located between the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune, at the foot of the Corton hill. The Belles Filles climat, together with Bois Noël, takes its name from a poetic reference to a former meeting place and is renowned for its ability to produce both refined red and white wines. In this red interpretation, Pinot Noir reveals its most supple and fruit-driven expression, emblematic of the Côte de Beaune style.

In the glass, the wine displays a bright ruby-red color. The nose is fresh and expressive, with aromas of blackcurrant and redcurrant. On the palate, it is round and silky, with a fruit-focused core and fine-grained tannins. The structure is elegant and well-balanced, enhanced by a subtle mineral note typical of the limestone-rich slopes of Pernand-Vergelesses. The finish is harmonious, fresh, and inviting.

The grapes are hand-harvested into small crates and carefully sorted at the winery. Alcoholic fermentation lasts approximately fifteen days, with regular punch-downs to extract color and richness from the skins. After pressing, the wine is aged in oak barrels, 20% of which are new oak. Racking is carried out without pumps to ensure gentle handling and preserve the wine’s natural richness and finesse.

This wine pairs beautifully with beef fillet, veal sauté, lacquered leg of lamb, duck fricassée, or a fine selection of cheeses.
