For anyone looking for an honest, terroir driven Sangiovese with immediate drinking pleasure and character, Petruccino is an easy choice. Made from 100% Sangiovese from plots at 430 metres elevation with west to southwest exposure, this cuvée displays the raw yet elegant profile of rocky calcareous schist soils with a thin clay topsoil. That combination gives the wine concentration and a mineral edge while the altitude provides freshness and refined acidity.

Yields are carefully controlled and the grapes are hand harvested to ensure optimal ripeness and pure fruit expression. In the cellar a temperature controlled fermentation is followed by a thoughtful maceration that extracts colour, aromatic intensity and gentle tannins without overpowering the fruit. The result is a direct, inviting style that also offers enough structure to match heartier dishes and to age gracefully in bottle.

In the glass Petruccino shows a ruby red colour. The nose opens to red cherries, wild herbs and subtle balsamic accents, an aromatic profile that combines Mediterranean warmth with a fresh undertone. On the palate it is juicy and lively: ripe red fruit and spice walk hand in hand with appealing acidity and ripe, refined tannins. The finish is clean and lightly balsamic, with a pleasant minerality that points back to the terroir.

Petruccino pairs excellently with grilled red meats, stews, roast pork and rich pasta dishes, and matches well with medium aged cheeses.

Serve at around 16–18 °C in a large glass to fully express its aromatic complexity.
