Domaine de Courcel Les Frémiers Pommard 1er Cru comes from a compact 0.79 ha parcel located south of Pommard at the foot of the slope, just below the Rugiens. The deep, red brown calcareous clay soil with higher clay content produces wines of concentration, structure and a pronounced terroir character.
In the glass the wine shows a clear, deep ruby colour. The nose is elegant and finely spiced, with aromas of cooked red fruit and plum, supported by subtle earthy and floral nuances. On the palate the style is highly refined: silky, well defined tannins, a concentrated fruit core and a long, elegant finish that highlights the purity of the terroir.
Vinification focuses on precision and respect for the grape: careful selection, controlled maceration and a maturation approach that preserves fine tannins and aromatic complexity without excessive oak influence. The result is a Pommard combining finesse and depth, where soil and vine age are clearly expressed.
Serve at 15°C. Excellent with roasted red meats, slowly braised game, rich stews and mature cheeses; particularly successful with dishes featuring caramelized or stewed fruit that accentuate the plum notes.
