This classic Douro red is Niepoort’s original Redoma, first released in 1991.
Its robust character is expressed in a rich ruby-red color with concentrated violet nuances. The nose is delicate and complex, offering floral notes and cherry, which evolve into subtle hints of tobacco, graphite, and spices upon swirling. On the palate, the wine is structured, round, and precise, with balanced acidity that promises a long, piquant finish.
Sourced from old vines in the north-facing vineyards of Quinta de Nápoles and the Pinhão Valley, and aged for 22 months in old wooden barrels, this wine perfectly embodies the extreme, rigorous character of the Douro region.
