A Riesling with backbone and character, hailing from one of Austria’s most iconic Riesling sites: Ried Pfaffenberg. These steep, granite-rich slopes above Stein an der Donau yield grapes with intense aromatic expression and minerality, thanks to vines over 50 years old.
The grapes are hand-harvested at the very end of the season, after an extended ripening period on the vines. The vinification is classic and deliberate: 12 hours of skin contact, 10 weeks of fermentation in stainless steel, followed by aging on fine lees.
In the glass, it shines bright golden yellow with silvery reflections. The nose bursts with tropical fruit aromas: think candied pineapple, apricot, and yellow peach, with a hint of mandarin zest. On the palate, it’s rich and juicy with vibrant acidity. The finish is long, elegant, and beautifully tinged with shimmering minerality.
