Salomon Undhof Stein a.d. Donau Riesling is an expressive white wine whose character stems from the weathered stone terraces of Krems.
At the end of October, the grapes are hand-harvested, followed by gentle pressing and 48 hours of natural sedimentation. The must ferments for nine weeks in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures, then matures further on fine lees for around six months.
The result is a pale yellow-green Riesling with silvery highlights that immediately radiates freshness and finesse. On the nose, you’ll find exotic fruit like pineapple and papaya, with subtle notes of blossom honey and orange peel. On the palate, it presents itself elegantly and juicy, with delicate fruit sweetness, vibrant acidity and a subtle minerality that provides length in the finish.
