Rum Nation Demerara Nº 14 is an exceptional rum from British Guyana, born from sugar cane molasses and skillfully blended from various vintages. This artisanal blend combines the rich body of pot stills with the vibrant freshness of column stills, offering a perfect balance between full flavor and smooth drinkability. After an initial aging in ex-Bourbon American oak barrels, the rum develops a creamy sweetness that is enhanced by a 12-month aging process in fresh sherry butts (Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso), adding a spicy, herbal note. A small addition of very old Enmore rum imparts to this Demerara its distinctive deep, dark dimension.

In the glass, its dark amber hue immediately captivates, while the nose offers a rich palette of aromas with nuances of fermented fruit, cola, myrtle, and bergamot tea. On the palate, a sumptuous combination of sugar cane molasses, dark chocolate, coffee, and dried raisins unfolds, complemented by a subtly toasted, slightly bitter background and herbal hints of black tea and gentian root. The finish is an endless interplay between bitter herbal notes and a sweet, almost syrupy aftertaste reminiscent of fine vermouth.
