Schiava

Discover Elena Walch’s Schiava Alto Adige DOC, an elegant, fruit-driven red wine that perfectly showcases the purity of the native Schiava grape. Sustainably grown under VIVA certification on the limestone-rich mid-altitude slopes around Tramin, it thrives on warm summer days and cool mountain nights for refined aromatic balance.

After hand-harvesting, the must undergoes controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks with six days of skin contact to develop color and texture. The wine then matures in traditional large oak casks, lending it a supple structure and delicate wood nuances.

In the glass, it glows with a bright ruby hue. The nose reveals subtle cherry aromas, floral accents and a light hint of spice. On the palate, silky tannins, naturally mild acidity and a harmonious finish deliver a long, graceful persistence.

Serve this Schiava lightly chilled (12–14 °C) alongside Mediterranean dishes, vibrant pastas and refined antipasti. Its fresh elegance and fruit-forward profile also make it equally delightful on its own or paired with mild cheeses.
