The Barbaresco Serragrilli DOCG from Marchesi di Barolo originates from the homonymous Serragrilli cru, a gently sloping hillside located in the commune of Neive with a south western exposure. Thanks to this position, the Nebbiolo grapes benefit from extended sunlight well into the evening. The compact limestone and clay soils, covered with quartz sand and fine silt, give the wine its marked finesse, structure, and clear expression of terroir.

In the glass, the wine shows a ruby red colour with typical garnet reflections. The nose is broad and refined, revealing floral aromas of wild violet, ripe blackberry, and delicate spicy notes of cinnamon and nutmeg. On the palate, it is firm and full bodied, with a harmonious and well balanced structure, supported by ripe, fine grained tannins that never dominate, providing elegance and length.

After a strictly manual harvest, the grapes are carefully destemmed and gently pressed. Alcoholic fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures with skin maceration, while regular pump overs ensure optimal extraction of colour, aromas, and polyphenols. Once the ideal level of extraction is reached, the wine is racked to preserve balance and purity.

Ageing lasts for a minimum of nine months in oak, with 80% in large 30 hl Slavonian oak casks and 20% in French barriques, followed by further bottle ageing of at least six months.

Ideally served at 18?°C, this Barbaresco pairs beautifully with refined meat dishes, veal, poultry, mushrooms, or aged cheeses. This is an elegant and approachable Barbaresco cru for lovers of classic Nebbiolo, offering fine ageing potential and a refined evolution in bottle.
