Terra d’Eclano is Quintodecimo’s emblematic Aglianico cuvée, assembled from selected parcels across the estate. The vineyards sit between 420 and 460 m altitude on varied exposures and soils, from clay rich grounds to volcanic terroirs, contributing to the wine’s complexity and depth.
In the glass it shows a deep ruby colour with purple hues. The nose unfolds layers of ripe red fruit, plum, licorice and coffee, complemented by balsamic and spicy accents. On the palate it is full bodied yet elegant: a solid structure with soft, velvety tannins, pronounced minerality and a persistent, long finish.
Winemaking is traditional and focused: hand harvesting, careful selection and fermentation for about 20–25 days at 28–30 °C. After maceration the wine ages 12 months in oak barrels (approximately one third new oak), which provides backbone and refined oak nuances without overshadowing the fruit or terroir.
Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. Food pairing: roasted or braised red meats, lamb, game, rich stews and mature cheeses.
A compelling choice for lovers of powerful, terroir driven reds; Terra d’Eclano has excellent ageing potential and develops additional complexity and harmony with years in bottle.
