Toar Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC is a full bodied, surprisingly rich Valpolicella from the classic zone of Verona, described by Masi as “the Valpolicella of the future.” The cuvée combines traditional indigenous varieties, notably Corvina and Rondinella, with the re discovered Oseleta, a native grape that contributes colour, structure and tannins, adding extra depth and concentration.
In the glass Toar develops appealing aromas of cherries and blueberries with a delicate touch of vanilla; on the palate it shows opulent flavours of berries, gentle spices such as cinnamon and clove, and a long, dry finish. The powerful yet approachable texture and well balanced tannin level make the wine both robust and drinkable, a harmony of power and elegance typical of this Classico Superiore.
Toar is particularly well suited to grilled or roasted red meats, braised game and moderately aged cheeses; serve at 16–18 °C to allow the layers of aroma and structure to fully unfold. The name Toar refers to the volcanic soils of the vineyards of origin, which contribute to the wine’s character and mineral expression.
