Vosne Romanée La Croix Blanche from Domaine Chanzy originates in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, where limestone, clay and marl soils give Pinot Noir its natural depth and refinement. This cuvée embodies the classic Vosne Romanée signature: concentrated fruit, a velvety tannin structure, and a subtle, terroir driven minerality that expresses both elegance and character.
In the glass, La Croix Blanche shows a deep ruby colour with purple edges. The nose is complex and inviting: ripe cherry and blackcurrant are joined by notes of violet, liquorice and a gentle earthy undertone; in the background, fine spice and a discreet hint of vanilla emerge. On the palate, the wine is full and layered, with a silky texture, well integrated tannins and a long, fruit driven finish in which minerality and delicate oak tones blend harmoniously.
Vinification is traditional and terroir focused: hand harvesting, partial destemming and a controlled, cool pre fermentation maceration, followed by fermentation in small vats. Ageing takes place on fine lees in French oak barrels for approximately 18–20 months.
Serving temperature: 14–16 °C. Food pairing: ideal with roasted beef, venison or pheasant, with rich sauces and mushroom dishes, and with aged cheeses such as Époisses or Comté; also an excellent choice for festive, gastronomic menus.
