Ron Millonario
Peruvian tradition in every drop
Ron Millonario embodies the Peruvian rum tradition from the valleys of La Libertad and Piura, where generations of farmers blend ancestral knowledge with modern distillation techniques. The molasses sourced from Trujillo undergoes fermentation with native yeasts, double pot-still distillation, and tropical aging in ex-bourbon and Slavonian oak casks. Sustainability and fairtrade practices strengthen the community by converting bagasse into biofuel, recycling 80% of process water, and partnering with local farmers.
Ron Millonario embodies Peru’s rich rum heritage, born in the sun-drenched sugarcane fields of the country’s north. Rooted in the fertile valleys of La Libertad and Piura, every bottle breathes the passion of generations of farmers and distillers. By combining centuries-old craftsmanship with modern techniques, this rum strikes a perfect balance of tropical warmth, spicy nuance, and deep oak tones.
The soul of the Andes in every cask
The origins of Ron Millonario trace back to small family estates in the Andes, where artisans cultivated and distilled sugarcane for generations. Today, master distiller Miguel Centeno honors tradition through classic pot stills while innovating in the R&D lab. Each year, new tasting series merge time-honored recipes with refined aroma and aging experiments. Ron Millonario also invests in cultural and educational programs across the Andes region, preserving both its rum and associated heritage.
Microclimate of Trujillo in every drop
The heart of this rum begins with molasses sourced from the valleys around Trujillo, renowned for their exceptional soil fertility and unique microclimate. Fermentation tanks use indigenous yeasts that develop complex, fruity, and spicy esters over a roughly 72-hour cycle at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, a traditional double distillation in copper pot stills yields a “low wine” first run and a precise “heart cut” second run. Finally, the rum matures in carefully selected ex-bourbon and Slavonian oak casks stored in tropical warehouses where day-night temperature swings foster rich wood-spirit interaction.
The collection
Millonario N°15 Reserva Especial This solera-aged rum is crafted against fifteen quality criteria, from premium sugarcane to optimal maturation. Its deep amber hue delivers a persistent bouquet of candied fruits, cocoa, coconut, plums, and cloves, with a buttery body offering a lavish mouthfeel.
Millonario XO XO (“Extra Old”) features rums aged up to twenty years in American and European oak barrels. Presented in a limited-edition decanter, it reveals a complex, tropical-sweet aroma, a creamy texture, and a delicate, perfumed bouquet that lingers on the palate.
Millonario 10 Aniversario Reserva Light and approachable, this ten-year solera-aged rum shows a warm amber color. Notes of candied orange, bergamot tea, vanilla, and honey lead into flavors of chestnut honey, lemon, and raisins, finishing with a subtle peppery kick.
Millonario 10 Aniversario Cincuenta A fortified version of the 10 Aniversario Reserva bottled at 50 % ABV for bold cocktails. It retains the original’s fruity, vanilla, and chocolate notes, delivering intensified depth and a dry sherry influence that bridges the Reserva’s freshness and the Solera 15’s darker complexity.
Millonario Kuytchi Spiced Celebrating the Inca rainbow goddess Kuytchi, this spirit drink combines Millonario rum with natural cacao and dulce de leche aromas. Its buttery nose evokes vanilla, dates, and chocolate, while the palate is caressed with toffee, honey, and sultana grapes, finished by a warming hint of chili.
Investing in the future
Sustainability is woven into every step of Ron Millonario’s process. Remaining bagasse fibers are converted into biofuel for the steam boilers, making the distillery largely energy-self-sufficient. Byproducts return to the fields as compost, enriching soil fertility. Advanced recycling systems reuse up to 80 % of process water for cooling and cleaning, while rooftop solar panels cover part of the electricity needs. Additionally, Ron Millonario partners with local farmers under fairtrade agreements, ensuring stable incomes and funding irrigation and training projects that strengthen the regional community.
